Education begins with discovering potential

A practical reflection for your next development conversation.

01

Within the TEELCA approach, education is understood as identifying, developing, equipping and expressing latent potential. Begin by asking what the learner is curious about, where they contribute naturally and what they would like to become capable of doing.

02

Connect that understanding to a clear development goal. Use the IDEE sequence: identify an emerging capability, develop it through purposeful practice, equip the learner with suitable tools and support, and create an opportunity to express what has been learned.

03

Review more than task completion. Invite the learner to describe what they understand, demonstrate what they can now do and identify where further support would help. Use that conversation to agree the next practical step.
